Blog #9- Changes in Understanding

Well it is the last week of this class as I am sure you all know!! I can say that I do not think I have ever had a computer class that I have enjoyed except for this class. Do not get me wrong, there was things such as podcasting and blogging that I could do without. Although these two things were my least favorite, I am glad we had to do them because I had no idea what they were. I had heard of blogging before, but I would have never done it if I wasn't forced to. I cannot believe that I launched my own website. That is very cool! Like I have said in previous blogs I was so scared about this class that I thought of dropping it when I found out we had to create our own websites. The internet is so complex that it would take a long time for one to understand the ins and outs, but I am learning and this class helped deepen my interest.
Everyone had interesting blogs and I thought it was fun to read others opinions about assignments. I am not a huge fan of writing my thoughts for the world to see, but since it was for a class it was okay.

It was nice meeting all of you! Good Luck =)

Blog #8- Class Learning Experience

This class has been quite the experience for me! I came in pretty much knowing nothing about building a website, podcasting, and blogging. Now I feel confident if someone would come to me and ask for help on a project. The number one thing I have learned about designing a website is you must use tables!!! At first, I thought it was stupid that we had to use tables because they were confusing to me and I just wanted to insert things and use spaces--the end decision--I had to figure out how to use the tables. Once I got the hang of it, I realized how much easier it makes the process of building a website! Everything looks much better and more proportioned. HTML coding is another big thing that I learned. It would take a lot longer for me to become a pro, but it is now not a foreign subject to me. I wish I had some good sites for me to share with you, but I basically used the ones Fawn gave us at the beginning of class. All of you have access to them on Carmen. I can tell you that if you want to learn how to change background colors from templates, a good site for that is the HTML Tutorial site. I referenced back to this site a lot while building my site! Although this class can be overwhelming and frustrating at times, I learned a great deal that will be useful for me in the future. I thought the relaxed atmosphere helped ease some of the frustration.......and the del.ic.ious accounts--pretty cool =)

Blog #7- Website Video Use

I like this assignment a lot better than trying to figure out podcasting! I found so many different websites that use video to enhance the purpose of the site. My favorite has to be . Once the website loads, you can pick from a selection of videos to watch such as: tennis, basketball, yoga, ect. After watching one of the videos you feel inspired to buy the nike brand. The videos correlate with sports, the products that nike sells. There is nothing I do not like about this site!!! The next site, apartments.com, is a good place to find virtual tours to show users brief footage of the apartment. This allows apartment hunters to search and view apartments without the hassle of driving there! The only negative thing about this site is it takes entirely way too long for the tour to load. I have sat for over 5 min, very frustrated, for the site to respond. has some good videos on its site. You can watch featured highlights from entertainment, sports, and real life vidoes all from the homepage. The videos go hand in hand with the written article about the topic. It is user-friendly and loads in a timely manner. There is even a little camera symbol by the articles that also show a video. Yahoo! needs to add some more videos to the site. There are times when the site seems to be pick boring ones, but for the most part I enjoy the videos!
I have not posted any comments yet because its almost the end of the spring quarter and everyone is slacking (haha) so there is no blogs to make a comment on!!!!!!!!!!!! Who wants to do homework when it is sunny and warm outside!!!!! I will post them at a later time!!

Blog #6- PODCASTS

I chose ITunes for subscriptions to podcasts. It worked out well because I already have it on my computer to download music for my ipod. I have never subscribed to a podcast before, so once again this was a first for me. My five subscriptions picked were: Best of YouTube, AndersonCooper360, ABC World News, Wall Street Confidential, and APM Marketplace. The first two podcasts are my choice for entertainment. I think YouTube has some hilarious stuff on it and on a more serious note I enjoy Anderson Cooper and his spin on news reporting! The last three can help me professionally in the financial world. I found the podcasts by accessing the ITunes store and went to podcasts from there. Since I am unfamiliar with podcasts, I downloaded some "top" ones to see what it was all about!
